Arisunime – The manga The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch is getting a TV anime adaptation, and is scheduled to air in 2026. The visual teaser, trailer, and the main cast and staff were released. Studio LIDENFILMS is in charge of the animation.
Kaede Hondo will play the role of Spica Virgo, while Nobunaga Shimazaki as Claude Sirius.
Naomasa Tatsuwa is directing the anime with Midori Goto in charge of series composition and Takayuki Onodo illustrating the character designs. The anime is based on the manga by Yousuke Kaneda which is serialized in Kodansha’s Pocket Magazine since March 2022.
Synopsis:
From Yousuke Kaneda, creator of “Boarding School Juliet” – A magic academy fantasy about a poor witch and her black cat teacher begins! Student witch Spica Virgo can’t use magic at all. To get a place at the magic school of her dreams, she needs a mentor – but she has neither money nor connections. One day, a mysterious black cat that speaks and uses magic appears before her!
