By chance, she meets a graduate student majoring in mineralogy named Arato Nagi, and they begin collecting minerals together.
Sometimes she hikes mountain trails to search for crystals, other times she bathes in rivers to collect garnets, and at other times she observes unfamiliar minerals under a microscope.
