My Dress Up Darling Anime Synopsis
My Dress Up Darling follows high school student Wakana Gojou as he spends his days perfecting the art of making lowly dolls, hoping to eventually reach his grandfather’s level of expertise. While his teenage friends are preoccupied with pop culture, Gojou finds joy in sewing clothes for his dolls.
Nonetheless, he tries to keep his quirky hobby a secret, as he believes he will be ridiculed if it is revealed.
However, along comes Marin Kitagawa, a strikingly beautiful girl whose confidence and calmness are in stark contrast to Gojou’s gentleness. It would go against common sense for the friendless Gojou to hang out with the likes of Kitagawa who is always surrounded by her friends.
However, the unimaginable happens when Kitagawa learns of Gojou’s prowess with a sewing machine and cheerfully confesses to him his own hobby of cosplay. Since his sewing skills are pathetic, he decides to ask her for help.
As Gojou and Kitagawa work together on one cosplay outfit after another, they can’t help but become close despite their very different lives.***
