Synopsis My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes chronicles life in a superhuman society, where it’s hard to feel special. Even more so when the spotlight can only shine on professional heroes, those who are legally allowed to use their special powers known as Quirk in public for the common good.
Kouchi Haimawari grew up aspiring to be a hero, but with a mediocre Quirk like “gliding” binding him to the ground, he soon came to the conclusion that he could only admire them from below.
Despite this, Kouchi was content to use his Quirk to perform everyday good deeds, such as returning lost items and helping old people cross the street.
However, Kouchi’s benign life took a tumultuous turn when he was rescued from a back alley fight by the Vigilante or illegal hero, Knuckleduster. Seeing the potential hero in Kouchi, Knuckleduster enlists his help to hack the source of a dangerous drug known as Trigger that enhances users’ Quirk at the expense of their rationality.
Set before the main story of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes follows Kouchi’s story as he chooses to shed his reputation as a criminal and become a Vigilante, operating under the shadow of the law to prevent crimes from coming to light.***
