Arisunime — HoYoverse, the developer of Genshin Impact, announced on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, that it will end support for the PS4 version on April 8, 2026. The game will be removed from the PlayStation Store starting September 10, 2025.
In-game purchases for currency and tickets will end on February 2, 2026. This follows an announcement in May 2024 confirming performance issues on the console.
In its statement, HoYoverse cited “hardware performance and application size as the reasons for ending system updates.” They also noted that the system will still be playable after the Game Removal and In-Game Purchase Removal phases.
Users can switch to another platform after the End of Support for Updates arrives, though the company noted this can be done immediately by opening the Paimon Menu in the game, selecting settings, going to the account, and then to the User Center. They also stated that the process will eventually be automated.
The company also said this will begin on December 17, 2025, and will trigger the opportunity to link accounts via email or QR code.***
