Arisunime– The live broadcast of Indonesia Horse Derby 2025 has broken the previous record for viewership, no doubt thanks to the popularity of Cyagmes’ game UmaMusume: Pretty Derby.
According to a Kaori Nusantara report cited by dexerto, the event attracted 270,000 views on Youtube, and this is the highest spike from around 85,000 views in 2024.
This spike occurred just a few weeks after the global release of Umamusume: Pretty Derby, which was a popular horse racing and training game that quickly took the world by storm.
In Indonesia alone, it is one of the top five most downloaded games, and this is a testament to why the game is so popular with fans, especially those who know Umamusume from the anime first.
Umamusume is increasing the number of real-world horse racing viewers in Indonesia.
On July 27, Umamusume fans flooded the chat section of the live broadcast of the Indonesia Horser Racing Deby where after the event they provided a number of jokes, memes, and references to the winning horse, King Argentine, a Triple Crown winner.
Meanwhile, the organizers welcomed this new influx of spectators and actively encouraged the creation of Umamusume-style fan art for the horses competing in the Indonesia Derby.
While the derby is attracting a lot of attention from Uma fans, this is not the first time the game’s players have made an impact. In fact, fans have previously donated a retired racehorse, Haru Urara, who is one of the game’s main characters, and some have even purchased real racehorses.***
